Our Story

A warm welcome

Herangtunet Mountain Lodge is the result of a dream that became reality. In 2023, we left our former lives in the Netherlands together with our dog Knud to embrace the mountains, nature and slower pace of life in the beautiful Valdres region of Norway.

Today, we are supported by a warm and dedicated team who help bring Herangtunet to life every day. While we are not always personally present, we remain closely involved, and together we share the same passion for genuine hospitality, personal service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

 

At Herangtunet, our love for hospitality, nature and outdoor adventures comes together in a place where guests can relax, reconnect and experience the very best of Norwegian mountain life. We look forward to welcoming you and helping you create unforgettable memories in the heart of Valdres.

currently manage the lodge with great pride and dedication. Originally from Greece, they both share a genuine passion for hospitality. Through their enthusiasm, personal attention, and commitment to exceptional service, they ensure that every guest feels at home and enjoys an unforgettable stay in the beautiful Norwegian mountains.


For a delicious lunch or a memorable dinner, Ioannis is always ready to welcome you. With
his love for good food and attention to quality, he turns every meal into a special experience.
Maria is at the heart of the guest experience. Whether you are looking for information about
the many activities in the area, recommendations for the most scenic hikes, or simply a
friendly chat about your adventures of the day, Maria is always happy to help with a smile.

Together, Maria and Ioannis create the warm and personal atmosphere that Herangtunet
Mountain Lodge is known for. Their goal is simple: to ensure that you can fully relax, enjoy
everything the region has to offer, and leave with wonderful memories. From the moment you
arrive until the day you depart, they do everything they can to make your stay as
comfortable, personal, and unforgettable as possible.
